Hooman Akhtari

Co-Founder | General Contractor | Design Professional | Real Estate Professional

With over 15 years of combined experience in architecture, interior design, construction, and real estate, Hooman Akhtari leads HAPI Group with a clear mission: to bridge visionary design with practical execution. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from the American University in Dubai and a Master of Architecture from the University of Miami, graduating with distinction (GPA: 3.99). During his time at UM, Hooman was honored as the Student of the Year (2012) and received the Thesis of the Year, the Alpha Rho Chi Medal, and the Henry Adams Medal—recognitions awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and outstanding professional promise.

Hooman began his career at internationally renowned firms including Gensler, where he contributed to large-scale, high-profile developments—including a major mixed-use project valued at over $100 million. His architectural approach is rooted in real-world construction knowledge, reinforced by his credentials as a licensed general contractor and licensed real estate agent, and shaped by hands-on development experience. In 2019, he was awarded the American Institute of Architects’ Associate of the Year, recognizing his leadership and innovation in the built environment.

Throughout his career, Hooman has led a diverse range of residential and commercial projects, always with a client-first mindset. He specializes in uncovering a property’s full potential—through strategic planning, feasibility analysis, and design execution—and translating that vision into tangible, long-term value. His forte lies in developing a clear design concept from an initial idea and advancing it through a tailored methodology—one that adapts uniquely to the goals, constraints, and character of each project. This process-driven approach ensures that every solution is contextually responsive and creatively refined.

Fluent in English, Spanish, Azerbaijani, Turkish, Farsi, and intermediate Arabic, Hooman works seamlessly with international clients and collaborators. Beyond his professional pursuits, he is a classically trained violinist, having performed in numerous concerts and recorded five classical albums, and a lifelong soccer player, whose passion for the game mirrors his commitment to teamwork, discipline, and dynamic problem-solving.

At HAPI Group, Hooman leads with passion and purpose—uniting design integrity, construction precision, and development insight into a seamless process. His work is driven by a commitment to delivering bold, visionary spaces that add lasting value to clients’ investments and elevate the built environment.
